MRS. MARVIN TURNER

Mrs. Bertha Leona Smith Turner, 80, of 28 Bennett Street, Brandon communith of Greenville, SC, died Monday, January 30, 1995 at St. Frances Hospital following a period of decling health.

Born April 29, 1914 in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Reverend Jess H. and Mattie Luther Smith. She was associated with Brandon Mill before her retirement and was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

Her husband, Marvin Turner, died March 1989, and a son, Charles Turner, died April 12, 1932.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Furman L.(Norma Jean) Hall of Dacusville and Mrs. James O. )Deane)Skelton, Jr. of Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Owens and Mrs. Thelma Herd, both of Greenville; a son, Joel B. Turner of Simpsonville; a brother, L.A. Smith of Piedmont; five grandchildren, eight gr-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday at the Downtown Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home with burial in Gracelan Cemetery.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James O. Skelton, 1 McSwain Drive, Greenville.
